Glenn Landry — The Wetlands

A total of 132 players took part in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School Tournament on April 26, and Glenn Landry turned in the shot of the day during that scramble event. The 62-year-old Landry used a 5-iron and a Titleist Pro V1 ball to record a hole-in-one on the 168-yard eighth hole at The Wetlands. Landry, who carries an 8 handicap and has been playing for 40 years, was in a scramble foursome with Ron Robicheaux Sr., Ron Robicheaux Jr., and Bobby Cormier.

Raymond Thibodeaux — The Wetlands

Raymond Thibodeaux recorded the first hole-in-one of his 15-year golf career on April 25, using a sand wedge and a Titleist ball to ace the 110-yard eighth hole at The Wetlands. The 68-year-old Thibodeaux, who carries a 14 handicap despite not startin golf until after age 50, plays The Wetlands twice a week. Father Arthur Warren, Tom Stoma and Larry Perkins were witnesses to the ace.

David Hays & Garrett Theriot — Spanish Trail

David Hays and Garrett Theriot both recorded holes-in-one on the 140-yard fourth hole at Spanish Trail in Cade during the month of March. No other details were available.

Steve Provost — Farm d’Allie

Steve Provost has been playing golf for 44 years, but the retired former UL Lafayette staffer never had a hole-in-one until Friday, April 9. That day, the 65-year-old Provost, a nine-handicapper, aced the 142-yard third hole at The Farm d’Allie in Carencro. Provost used a 9-iron and an NXT Tour ball to record the roll-in ace while playing with Darrin Menard, Tyler Menard and Brandon Mouton.

Jamie Kelly — Indian Hills

Jamie Kelly recorded the first hole-in-one of his golfing career on Saturday, April 10, when he used an 8-iron to ace the 148-yard fourth hole at Indian Hills in Opelousas. Indian Hills director of golf Marty Young said that Kelly’s shot shot was witnessed by Todd Kidder, Blaine Guillory and Kevin Carrier.

Jamey Kyle – Indian Hills

Jamey Kyle recorded the first hole-in-one of his golfing career on Thursday, March 25, at Indian Hills Country Club in Opelousas. Kyle used a 6-iron to ace the 175-yard 11th hole.

Oscar Matte — The Wetlands

Oscar Matte of Lafayette, a 17-handicapper, used a 9-iron and a Titleist Pro-V I ball to record a hole-in-one Sunday, March 14, at the 125-yard 16th hole at The Wetlands. The 59-year-old Matte has been playing golf only seven years, and was in a group that included Chester Mouton, Kent Sylvester and Murray Conque.

Steve Regan — The Wetlands

Steve Regan of Lafayette, an annual membership holder at The Wetlands, posted his first ace at his home course on Monday, March 17. Regan used a Callaway X-18 pitching wedge and a Top Flite ball to hole out on the 125-yard 13th hole, with brother-in-law Terry Angelle and Barry Peterson witnessing. Regan, who has been playing golf for 40 of his 60 years and holds a 14 handicap, and last had a hole-in-one in 1994 on the second hole at Hebert Municipal.

Blake Noel — Indian Hills

 Blake Noel recorded the first hole-in-one of his golfing career Tuesday, March 16, at Indian Hills Country Club in Opelousas. Noel used a 9-iron to ace the 143-yard seventh hole at Indian Hills, with Johnny Taylor witnessing the shot.

James Baker — The Wetlands

Not technically a hole-in-one, but still worthy of mention … James Baker of Scott used an 8-iron and a Callaway ball to hole out for an eagle on his second shot on the 344-yard par-four opening hole at The Wetlands on Feb. 11. The 63-year-old Baker, a 16-handicapper, holed out on the third bounce from 141 yards away for his first career eagle after 41 years of playing golf. Steve Provost and Chi Chi Lemaire were witnesses to the shot.
